Textual Analysis 1)       The type of text is an advertisement by Nike t hat is endorsed by Oscar Pistorius. 2)       The reason why I know this is a advert because  this makes the customer want to buy a Nike product which is the purpose of this advertisement. The motivational quote that is in included in the image inspires the person and would more likely feel this way when presented by a Nike product. 3)       This advertisement is targeted towards athletic and active people that take part in sports, the quote shown in the advertisement, “I am the bullet in the chamber”, creates the idea of power and self-drive which are qualities that are needed for people that do sport. Also, the advertisement could also target the demographic of people who are athletically able which stereotypically falls under the age of 40.  Mise en scene analysis In this still image you see a man in a bus. The costume the man is wearing a black jacket, the colour black represented mystery, evil and death which can foreshadow what happens later to the man clarifying the shocked look on his face. In the image, the lighting is bright however as you move further away from the man it becomes blurry and harder to see. The blurring could link to how the character feels confused and astonished. The actor  in the image has a frightened and terrified expression on his face showing that he is terrified and is a state of panic and fear and also he is in a hunched position so that he can be avoid being seen which shows that he is uneasy, timid and reserved.  It looks like the character has dark rings underneath his eyes which could be the result of make-up which shows how the character is restless and is in a state of discomfort and uneasiness. Reading an Image   The denotation of this image is a advertisement poster that promotes a Reebok trainer that is created and endorsed by 50 cent. The connotation of this image is working hard that eventually leads to success and how taking chances regardless of your background can lead you to your dream. Some of the colours included in the image are black and white but the main one is grey. Grey creates the sense of dullness, dreariness and gloominess which could represent the hard and rough background 50 cent grew up but still became successful which Reebok could use to inspire anyone who views the image. 50 cent in this image is in a side pose with dark colours surrounding him.
