1) The type of
text is an advertisement by Nike that is endorsed by Oscar Pistorius.
2) The reason
why I know this is a advert because this makes the customer want to buy a Nike product which is the purpose of this advertisement. The motivational quote that is in included in the image inspires the person and would more likely feel this way when presented by a Nike product.
3) This
advertisement is targeted towards athletic and active people that take part in
sports, the quote shown in the advertisement, “I am the bullet in the chamber”,
creates the idea of power and self-drive which are qualities that are needed
for people that do sport. Also, the advertisement could also
target the demographic of people who are athletically able which
stereotypically falls under the age of 40. However, this might incite a problem
with people who aren’t seen as young or athletic fit which might cause them to
be isolated or alienated by the advertisement which is not the intention of the
advertisement.
4) This advert
is targeted towards people who are athletic and athletic people are
stereotypically teenagers and adults which means that they could encounter this
advert by the internet using devices such as phones or tablets. Also, the could
be seen in sports shops such as JD and Sports Direct as they endorse in selling
things that are related to sports. The advert could be seen in magazines that
promote or advertise selling Nike products.
5) This
advertisement creates the idea of fitness, self-drive, motivation and success.
This advert also shows how a positive mentality can lead to positive outcomes
and how having a sense of determination and ambition helps to achieve personal
goals. Also, the man in the advert has no legs which Nike uses to
help create a positive message as it shows how having disability doesn’t
prevent you from doing things that you want to do if you have the power to do
so, the man in the advert has no legs but yet he replaced them with prosthetic allowing him to run, this is also a positive message as society creates the
idea of people with a disability being at an disadvantage nevertheless this
poster creates an opposite image as even though the man in the advert has no
legs, he has prosthetics which thus allows him to run and helps him achieve his
dreams.
